    Drive It Day

    27/04/2014 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

    • « The German Prestige Car Show & Spares – Cancelled
    • MX-5 Owners Club nationals at Brooklands Museum »

Drive it Day encourages all owners of historic vehicles to take to the roads on the 27th April 2014 to demonstrate how many historic and interesting machines are still on the road today.

Drive It Day is the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club’s Flagship event, supported by members of the UK’s 500-plus car clubs, and their supporters, to use yesterday’s two, three, four or more wheeled vehicles for a day to celebrate the UK’s transport heritage at its finest.  Last year the Sunday Times covered the event and estimated that over 250,000 historic vehicles took to the roads.  Owners had a lot of fun but there is a serious point in Drive it Day that we need to preserve the right to use historic vehicles on the highway.

In addition in 2014 the FBHVC will have a people at Gaydon, Brooklands, Cotswold Motoring Museum, Bressingham Steam and Garden Centre and Lakeland Motor Museum. All these locations would be good start, way-point or end-point locations for your drive.

FBHVC Secretary, Rosy Pugh, will be at, Bishopstone, near Swindon, which last year played host to over 120 vehicles of all types, ages and sizes during the day and all enjoyed the party atmosphere and the lovely sunshine.
