What should you look out for before buying a Porsche 996 series 911?

In recent years while prices of air-cooled Porsche 911’s have sky-rocketed, one 911 model that hasn’t climbed quite as rapidly, the 996-series.

The 996 series Porsche 911 was manufactured between 1997 and 2005. The 996 was arguably the biggest change Porsche had ever made to their 911 sports car since it’s launch in 1963.  The all-new car was larger, more luxurious and, for the first time, powered by an engine cooled by water and not air.

Porsche made many different variants of the 996 – Carrera 2, Carrera 4, Turbo, GT2, GT3, Targa and Cabriolet.
