Peugeot confirm Sebastian Loeb and Peugeot 208 T16 for 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Peugeot have confirmed that 9 time world rally champion (WRC) Sebastian Loeb will once again pilot the fearsome Peugeot 208 T16 up the hill at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Last June Sébastien Loeb has shattered the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record with a breath-taking time of 8m13.878s in the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak. The Frenchman negotiated the 12.42 miles and 156 corners of the mountain at an average speed of 87.471mph.  This was 1 minute and 33 seconds faster than the previous best time!

We thought this news provided an excellent excuse to watch the point of view footage of Loeb’s incredible record-breaking run again.

With 875bhp, the Peugeot 208 T16 packs 1bhp for every kilo.  Watching the run again, you’re reminded not only of how incredibly fast the car is and how skilled Loeb is behind the wheel but also how high the course climbs and how unforgiving it would be if he made a mistake or, heaven forbid, something broke on the car.
