New baby Jaguar XE – first reveal
Jaguar released this video at the 2014 Geneva motorshow, revealing the name and giving us a glimpse of what their new 3-series rival will look like when it’s released next year.
The new baby Jaguar will be called the XE.
Neither Jaguar, or their video are giving too much away. What we do know is that under the skin of the XE is a new aluminium monocoque, the first in the class, first previewed in the C-X17 concept car at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Jaguar XE – new range of engines
The XE will also be the first Jaguar to use the new four-cylinder Ingenium engines. The two-litre unit will be available in petrol and diesel, both built at Jaguar Land Rover’s new UK Engine Manufacturing Facility.
The Ingenium engine range will power a variety of Jaguar Land Rover models. Jaguar revealed these engines are suit both in-line and transverse installations, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The full engine range will allow Jaguar to offer vehicles with top speeds of over 300km/h (186mph) and emissions lower than 100g of CO2 per km
Jaguar XE revealed to the world?
Word is that the production Jaguar XE will be revealed later this year.
