MG TA engine start

Watch the clip of the glorious MG TA engine start up.  The jolly sound of the inline four takes you back to the 1930’s an age when Britain ruled the waves, by jove.

The MG TA engine is derived from the 1.3-litre pushrod fitted to the Morris 10 but MG tune fitted it with twin SU carburetors, lifting the power to 50bhp which was enough to propel the 801kg TA to a top speed of 75mph.

This was a genuinely charming car.  A barn find that had sat undisturbed from 1986 to 2010.  The current owner had the engine rebuilt and the car is road legal but has decided to keep the bodywork and interior in it’s as-found state.  You can even see woodworm (treated) in the dashboard.
