SUMMARY:Porsche Festival 2014 at Brands Hatch
DESCRIPTION:The Porsche Club GB will host the Porsche festival 2014 event at Brands Hatch\, Kent\, on 21 September\, featuring racing\, displays and demonstrations of both classic and contemporary Porsche sports cars\nOrganised by circuit owner MSV in association with Porsche Club GB and supported by Porsche Cars GB\, the Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche will be the Club’s leading national event for 2014. \nIn addition to a variety of on-track action\, the venue is expected to be surrounded by all types and ages of Porsche\, from the 356 of the 1950s to the very latest plug-in hybrid 918 Spyder super sportscar. \nPorsche 911 Turbo 40 year celebrations\nThe Brands Hatch Festival of Porsche coincides with the 40th anniversary of the 911 Turbo\, and a special celebration forms part of the event. A parade of over 60 examples of the 911 Turbo from the 1970s right up to the present day will take to the track on the Sunday afternoon. \nPorsche endurance racers at Brands Hatch\nTo support Porsche’s return to the LMP1 class at Le Mans this year\, the Porsche Museum will be showcasing a number of its jewels from the world-renowned exhibition in Stuttgart. The 1987 Porsche 962 and the 911 GT1 from 1998 will line-up in a pit lane display\, with other iconic racers joining them. \n \nCelebrity drivers\nIn addition to famous cars\, a number of personalities also take an active part in the event. Leading the on-track action will be former Porsche works race drivers and Le Mans winners Derek Bell\, MBE\, and Richard Attwood. \nPorsche centre Restoration challenge 2014\nThe Festival will also host the finale of a national contest organised by Porsche Cars GB that challenged Porsche Centres to undertake a Classic Restoration project. For 2014\, with the 911 Turbo celebrating its 40th anniversary and the launch of the new 911 Targa\, Centres are restoring any Classic Porsche model that is either turbo-charged\, a Targa or both. Including front-engined turbo models such as 924 and 944. \nPorsche racing action\nRace fans will enjoy a full on-track programme including the Porsche Club GB Porsche Club Championship\, Porsche Club Speed Championship and BRSCC Porsche Championship. DESCRIPTION:The Chelsea Car Club September meet and drive.  9am on every second last Sunday of each month throughout 2014. \nWe will meet in Hyde Park by the Pavilion on the South Carriage Drive between Alexandra Lodge and the Prince of Wales Gate and then head swiftly for a leisurely drive. \n Drives will normally last approximately one & a half hours and routes will vary every time. However should there be a more major meet / Event on\, then we will often run a convoy to it. So please note as a consequence meet times may vary therefore please email us the night before to confirm the exact details\, although full details will also be posted in our forum. \nAll Monthly Meets & Drives are Free to Attend\, so do come along! \nTo avoid disappointment of missing us and so we know attendee numbers please drop us an e-mail \nwith your contact details.
