The Chateau Impney Hill Climb is a classic motorsport event that hasn’t taken place for almost half a century but returns to the UK motorsport calendar on 11 and 12 July 2015. Find out more about the event and it’s history in this video
Find out more about this motorsport event that first took place more than 58 years ago in the grounds of the Chateau Impney hotel in Worcestershire.
The current record was set by Tony Griffiths, who completed the old 550-yard course in just 22.07 seconds, driving British racing legend Graham Hill’s ex-works 2.5 litre BRM. The new 2015 Motor Sport Association-approved course is now longer and over 200 competitors, in 19 classes, will be lining up. Eager to write their names into this new chapter of motorsport history at this historic venue.
The event is open to pre-1967 classic and racing cars, with many exciting classic sports and racing cars already confirmed including pre-war Bugatti Type 35 Grand Prix cars, Aston Martin racing cars that starred at Le Mans before the Second World War and Jaguar C-Type and D-Type racing cars that competed their afterwards.
The 2015 Chateau Impney Hill Climb aims to recapture the inclusive spirit of these very popular hill climb sprint events, first organised by the Hagley & District Light Car Club between 1957 and 1967. There will be a host of other attractions on offer over the weekend for car enthusiasts and their families alike. Including – a Concours d’Elegance, a trading zone with over 100 dealers and trade stands and H&H Classics will host a major classic car auction.
